Sweet Orange Oil: Using sweet orange oil for nervousness April 07 2014
Nervousness is a very common human experience, and can rage greatly in terms of severity. Many people experience occasional situational nervousness, while others experience debilitating constant anxiety that result in heightened nerves and an inability to cope. Sweet orange oil has been found possess mood-enhancing and uplifting properties, having a positive effect on brain oxygenation, which can greatly assist in the reduction of mild to moderate nervousness and anxiety. This increase in oxygenation helps to soothe the brain, allowing for clarity and function that can help keep nerves calm and collected.
How to calm nerves with sweet orange oil:
First thing in the morning, wake your senses by adding 1-3 drops of sweet orange essential oil to your shower. This oil is very invigorating and can help strengthen your mindset from the moment you awake.
Diffuse sweet orange oil in a steam vaporizer while working. The diffusion of the oil while in focus creates a warm and revitalizing scent that rouses the mind and allows for an increased ability to concentrate, easing worry and fears.
For use topically, add a few drops of sweet orange oil to an unscented carrier oil (such as almond or jojoba) or lotion and rub on any desired part of the body. Adding a couple drops to a morning face regimen can help set the stage for increased mental function and stability throughout the rest of the day.
Sweet orange oil can also be used topically in its pure form to help balance and restore. Add a few drops to the bridge of the nose, behind the ears, to reflex points such as the inside of the wrists, between the toes and on the bottoms of feet.
For a quick brain boost, take 2-3 drops on your palms, rub them together, cup hands together, and inhale deeply. Repeat anytime a pick-me-up is needed.
