Lemon Oil: Using lemon oil for greasy hair May 08 2014
Greasy, oily hair is among the most common complaints when it comes to hair care. There are variety of potential causes, from excess sebum production to hormonal imbalances and even environmental factors (climate, toxins, etc.) Unfortunately, most people try to combat oily hair with harsh, detergent-like shampoos, which do temporarily dry the scalp but as a result, actually stimulates the production of even more oil. A better approach: aim to balance the scalp with lemon oil.
How to use lemon oil (Citrus limonium) to combat hair grease:
Add 1 drop to approximately one tablespoon of shampoo. Use as you normally would and repeat 2-3 times a week.
You can also prepare your shampoo ahead of time by mixing 10-20 drops of lemon oil per ½ cup of shampoo.
Make a hair rinse with 1 cup water, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, and 10-15 drops of lemon oil. Use after shampooing up to three times a week.
