Days Island 100% Pure Eucalyptus Oil

Neuralgia is characterized by an acute pounding, stabbing or tearing pain that originates on a nerve. The pains either occur periodically throughout the day, but can also last continually and is described as shooting pain that radiates up and down along the path of the nerve. The cause of the pain can be a stress or pressure on the nerve or an irritation of the nerve. This can be the result of various metabolic disorders, heavy metal poisonings, infections or hormonal changes, as well as emotional stress.

Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus radiata) has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties that make it a great option when treating nerve spasms that characterize neuralgia. Eucalyptus oil can help relax stiff muscles, allowing for pain relief and ease in range of motion and muscle movement.

How to use eucalyptus oil to ease neuralgia:

Add 3-5 drops of straight (neat) eucalyptus oil directly onto affected area. Slowly massage into skin and repeat when an attack hits.

Add 15-50 drops of eucalyptus oil to a hot bath. Combined with the benefits of the oil, the heat of the water encourages muscles to relax and helps reduce inflammation and spasms. For additional benefits, Epsom salts can be added to the water as well.

Add 5 drops of eucalyptus oil to a small squirt of lotion or carrier oil (such as almond or jojoba oil). Rub into palms to mix and massage into affected muscles.

For a convenient and portable rub on the go, add 10-20 drops of eucalyptus oil to a small spray bottle of water. Sprat directly onto the affected site and massage for several minutes.

Eucalyptus oil can also help to prevent nerve spasms of neuralgia and a morning rubdown is a fantastic way to warm and prepare the nerves for calm throughout the day. Rub 3-5 drops generously into the affected area until a relaxed sensation is felt.
