Lemon Oil: Using lemon oil to energize November 06 2013

Days Island lemon oil originates from the botanical species citrus limonium and is cold pressed from
the rind of Citrus limon, a twenty-foot tree with highly scented blossoms and lemon fruits.
Lemon oil is one of the most fragrant essential oils, and boasts invigorating, enhancing, and
warming properties that make it an extremely energizing scent.
Lemon has been found to have mood-enhancing properties, having a stimulant-like effect
on the brain. Lemon oil contains a high content of d-limonene, a powerful antioxidant that
is helpful in inhibiting the accumulation of toxins, which in turn acts to improve circulation
and therefore oxygen to all organs. This allows for a clearer mind and body, which in turn
creates an energizing and mood enhancing effect.
How to use lemon oil:
For an invigorating start to your day, simply add a few drops of lemon oil to your shower.
The warm water will help diffuse the oil and the energizing scent will surely assist in
waking both mind and body.
Add a few drops to a spray bottle of distilled water for an enlivening room spray and air
freshener. A vapor diffuser can also be great for this—simply add a few drops of lemon oil
and let the refreshing steam take over.
For a quick and revitalizing energy boost, combine a couple drops each of lemon oil and
peppermint oil in 8 to 12 ounces of water. Serve over ice for a refreshing pick-me-up.
As always, before you begin any sort of regimen using essential oils, please consult with
your physician, naturopath, or aromatherapist before doing so. The use of oils can be very
empowering and effective in the treatment of a variety of ailments. However, use your own
discretion; the medical community is there to help us when oils can't.
